Nuansarealitanews.com, Kotim (Central Kalimantan) – The Sub-District Head (Catar) of Parenggean, alongside a delegation of local leadership elements (Muspika), held a socialization event regarding the temporary suspension of gold mining activities for residents of Tandang and Kota Baru Hamlets in Barunang Miri Village, Parenggean Sub-District, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, on Sunday (June 7, 2026).

This persuasive approach was carried out as part of regulatory restructuring efforts. The suspension of mining activities is being accompanied by a firm commitment from the local government to assist residents in processing official legal permits.
During the socialization event, the Head of Parenggean Sub-District, Muhammad Jais, S.Pd., was accompanied by several key local officials, including:

Mining Alignment with Legal Frameworks
In his briefing to the residents of the two hamlets, Muhammad Jais emphasized that the suspension policy is not intended to cut off the community’s livelihood. Instead, it aims to guide mining activities so they operate within the applicable legal corridors.
“The temporary suspension of this gold mining activity is being enforced because the official permit application process is currently underway,” said Muhammad Jais.
The sub-district government hopes that with clear legality in place, the community will eventually be able to carry out mining activities safely and securely, without violating any prevailing laws and regulations.
A Call for Public Cooperation
Meanwhile, the Chief of Parenggean Sector Police, IPTU Condro Purnomo Adi, urged residents to maintain a peaceful environment while the administrative process moves forward.
“We appeal to the entire hamlet community to maintain environmental conduciveness throughout this permit processing period.
We ask residents to cooperatively comply with this temporary suspension for the common good and to avoid future legal sanctions. Security and order are priorities for us all,” IPTU Condro stated.
The dialogue-based socialization event proceeded safely, orderly, and peacefully. Residents of Tandang and Kota Baru Hamlets welcomed the arrival of the leadership delegation and expressed appreciation for the guidance provided regarding the legal processing of their mining operations.
